We have a long history of welcoming students from all nationalities and religious faiths from all over the world.
Amref International University proudly welcomes international Students, Scholars and researchers to our university community. Our predecessor the Amref International Training Centre (AITC) has trained students from over 40 countries of Africa, North America and Europe, since 1989. We wish to expand this reach to more than 100 countries worldwide.
To apply for admission, an international student must complete all the application requirements as shown in the Student Portal Link. All Applications will be vetted using the Kenya Commission for University Education Criteria for University Admission. If admitted, the International Student will receive a letter online signifying approval and admission to Amref International University, fees, registration dates, Visa requirements, Medical Insurances requirements and Point of Contact at the University International Students Services.

Undergraduate international students

The University recognizes the London GCE, ‘A’ level qualifications or their equivalents; International Baccalaureate, any final secondary/high school examination deemed equivalent to the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education as recognized by the Kenya National Examinations Council or any internationally recognized examination body. The minimum University entrance requirements are set out by the University. Subject requirements for each Faculty/School/Institute are set out under the appropriate section of the University calendar.
Any international student who wishes to have his secondary/high school academic certificate equated by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) should get in touch with CIPL for guidance or visit the KNEC website: www.knec.ac.ke to access the guidelines.
Please note that KNEC will only equate certificates where a method (formula) for conversion exists and where the curriculum followed is known to KNEC. KNEC charges a nominal fee for this service.
 

Postgraduate Students

A Master’s degree is usually by course work and research whereas doctoral degrees are conducted by research. Details of specific master’s and doctorate degree programmes can be obtained from the university website. International students pay fees as stipulated in the guidelines. If you intend to apply for this programme get in touch with the university at least six months before admission.
