DIPLOMA IN COMMUNITY NUTRITION AND DIETETICS
A candidate must satisfy any of the following minimum
requirements:

  1. KCSE mean Grade of C – (Minus ) or its equivalent as ascertained by the Ministry of Education and any other requirements as set by the Kenya Nutritionists and

Dieticians Instititute (KNDI). The Mandatory subjects shall
be:
        C -(Minus ) in English/Kiswahili, Biology/Biological
sciences., C-(Minus) in  Chemistry or Physical Sciences.
D+ (Plus) in  any of the following: Mathematics ,Physics,
Home science, Agriculture, General Sciences

  1. A certificate in Community Nutrition and Dietetics from

Gretsa University or any other institution recognised by
Gretsa University Senate  and  KNDI

  • Bridging: A holder of KCSE certificate or equivalent with a minimum of C -(Minus ) but lacking the Mandatory cluster subjects may be required to undertake a bridging course in the respective courses offered at Gretsa University to qualify for entry.
The duration of the programme will be 8 semesters.
Tuition fee per semester (6 courses)
Fulltime, Evening and weekend (FTEW) – Ksh 25,000
Self Sponsored Students: Distance Learning Diploma (SSSDL): Ksh 22,000
Diploma in Community Health
  1. KCSE mean Grade of C (Plain) or equivalent as ascertained by the ministry of Education in addition to the following mandatory subjects:
  • C – (Minus) in English /Kiswahili, Biology/Biological Sciences.
  • C – (Minus) in Biology and Chemistry /Physical Sciences.
  • D+ (Plus) in any of the following : Mathematics, Physics, Home Science, Agriculture or General Sciences.

2.  A certificate in Community Health or any other Health related course from Gretsa or any other recognized institution.

  • Bridging: A holder of KCSE certificate or equivalent with a minimum of C-(Minus) but lacking the Mandatory cluster subjects may be required to undertake a bridging course in the respective courses offered at Gretsa University to qualify for an entry.
The duration of the programme will be 7 semesters (6 Semester course work and one semester for attachment).
Tuition fee per semester (6 courses)
Fulltime, Evening and weekend (FTEW) – Ksh 25,000
Diploma in Environmental Health
  1. KCSE mean Grade of C (Plain) or equivalent as ascertained by the ministry of Education in addition to the following mandatory subjects:
  • C  (Plain) in English /Kiswahili, Biology/Biological Sciences.
  • C – (Minus) Mathematics.
  • C- (Minus) in any of the following : Physics, Chemistryor physical Sciences, Building and construction/Technical drawing.

2.  A certificate in Environmental Health from Gretsa University or any other recognized institution by Gretsa University and PHOTC.
Bridging Courses: A holder of KCSE certificate or equivalent with a minimum of C (Plain) but lacking the mandatory cluster subjects may be required to undertake a bridging course in the respective courses offered at Gretsa University or any other university to qualify for entry.

The duration of the programme will be 8 semesters. (7 Semester course work and one semester for attachment).

Bridging Certificate In Biology
A candidate MUST satisfy any of the following minimum requirements:

  • KCSE certificate or any other qualification acceptable by the University Senate as equivalent
  • REQUIRED mean grade for admission to a  Diploma or Certificate Programme but lacking

Required grade in biology for the MANDATORY cluster subjects.

The programme will be covered in 75 academic hours in a duration of 1 month.

BRIDGING CERTIFICATE IN CHEMISTRY
To be admitted in the programme a candidate must satisfy the following Minimum requirements:

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E.) of D+ and minimum of D (plain) in chemistry
  • Required mean grade for admission to programme of choice but lacking the required grade in chemistry for the Mandatory cluster
The programme will be covered in a duration of 75 academic hours covered in one month.
