Admission Requirements

Bachelor of Science  Hospitality Management
A candidate must satisfy any of the following minimum requirements:

  • Be a holder of KCSE (or equivalent examination) certificate with a minimum aggregate of C+ and a minimum of C in both mathematics/Business studies and English, or
  • Be a holder of a KACE certificate with a minimum of two principal passes and one subsidiary pass, and a minimum of a credit pass in mathematics at KCE, or
  • Be a holder of a diploma or professional certificates from institutions recognized by the Ministry of Education and/ or Commission for University Education.
The programme shall take 4 academic Years of Study.
(8 sememsters in 3 calendar years) in situations where the student is admitted Year 1 Semester 1.
Tuition Fee per Semester (6 Courses) 
Self sponsored students – Ksh. 55,000
Self sponsored students Distance Learning (SSDL) – Ksh 45,000
Government sponsored students – Ksh 8,000
Diploma in
Food Production
A candidate must satisfy the following minimum Requirements:

  • KCSE mean Grade of C- (Minus) or
  • Certificate in Hospitality training from a recognized institution.
The duration of the programme is 6 semesters or three academic years offered in two calendar years.
Tuition fee per semester (6 courses)
Fulltime, Evening and weekend (FTEW) – Ksh 25,000
Distance Learning (DL) – Ksh 22,000 (Inclusive of Study materials.)
Diploma in Travel and Tourism Management
A candidate must satisfy the following minimum Requirements:

  • KCSE mean Grade of C- (Minus) or
  • Certificate in Hospitality training from a recognized institution.
The duration of the programme is 6 semesters or three academic years offered in two calendar years.
Tuition fee per semester (6 courses)
Fulltime, Evening and weekend (FTEW) – Ksh 25,000
Distance Learning (DL) – Ksh 22,000 (Inclusive of Study materials.)
Certificate in Food Production
A candidate must satisfy any of the following minimum requirements:

  • KCSE mean Grade of D+ or
  • KCE Div III,
  • Foundation or Artisan Certificate.
The programme will be offered on a duration of 2 semesters.
Tuition fee per semester (6 courses)  – Ksh 25,000
Foundation Certificate of Gretsa University
A candidate must satisfy the following minimum Requirements:

  • KCSE mean Grade of D
  • Any other qualification acceptable by the University Senate as equivalent to above.
The Foundation Certificate Programme shall take a duration of 2 semesters or one academic year. Upon graduation, the student will graduate with a Foundation Certificate of Gretsa University and will be eligible for admission to a certificate programme of their choice at Gretsa University.
