Engineering School at International Centre of Technology

This course is a Technical industrial vocation training that helps the learner to acquire practical skills, attitudes and competence relating to occupations in various sectors of economics and social life
Engineering is the practical application of science and math to solve problems, and it is everywhere in the world around you. From the start to the end of each day, engineering technologies improve the ways that we communicate, work, travel, stay healthy, and entertain ourselves. It requires education and skills that span a broad range of technical, social, environmental, and economic problems.
Engineers are problem-solvers who want to make things work more efficiently and quickly and less expensively. Engineering makes our modern life possible. In particular, electrical and mechanical have made remarkable contributions to our world.

Courses Offered & their objectives at International Centre of Technology Engineering School

Certificate or Craft in Electrical and Automotive
DurationLearned in two modules, by the end of each modules KNEC exam
Grade: D+ plus and c- minus

Grade: D and below

 Course Objective

  • Develop skill which will be responsive and relevant to the country’s human resources required at the middle level
  • Prepare the trainee so that they can enter the world of work with confidence for either salaried employment or self employment.
  • Impart adequate skill which will enable the trainee to serve to satisfactory.
  • To give participants a positive educational experience that will contribute to their life choices options and motivate them towards further learning.

In our school we have two engineering courses

In Electrical the trainee should be able to develop the following competencies at the end of the course
Ability to: i) to install repair and service extra low and low voltage installation
ii) Cost electrical and electronics task
iii) Repair and service basic electronics devices
iv) Install, repair and service solar installation systems.
iv) Apply quality control while providing services and environmental healthy and safety
 
In Automotive the trainee should be able to develop the following competencies at the end of the course
Ability to: i) Diagnose, repair and service vehicle parts
ii) Perform panel beating and spray painting on a vehicle
iii) Cost jobs and task in the automotive trade
iv) Apply quality control while providing services and environmental healthy and safety

Mechanical Engineering and electrical is applied in industry sectors such as; mining; minerals processing; chemical processing; pharmaceutical; manufacturing; oil and gas; automotive; aviation; aerospace; bulk handling; communications; health; building; electrical power generation and distribution; water and waste; natural gas distribution; road transport; rail transport; shipping; shipbuilding; defence; agriculture; forestry; fishing and food processing.Also in self employment
