Course Overview
Certified Information Communication Technologists are skilled and competent system developers and programmers, network administrators, systems engineers, ICT consultants and practitioners. The students will get equipped with skills to prepare them for to be subject matter experts in solutions design, software development and technology infrastructure support.

Course Structure
A minimum KCSE overall Grade of C+ (Plus) or equivalent is required to enroll in the program. The course consists of three (3) Parts, each with 2 sections. Each section can be completed in six (6) months. KASNEB Examinations can be taken at the conclusion of every Part. At the conclusion of the final module, students are required to complete three (3) months of industrial attachment and a final research project.

 

Diploma in Information Communications Technology

Course Overview
The program is designed to provide a solid foundation of emerging Technologies and application in the current world.    The Course covers the academic aspect as well as the vocational aspect of the wide area of Computing and Information and Communications Technology. Students will get equipped with skills to prepare them for careers in the ICT environment with emphasis on solutions design, software development and technology infrastructure support. Students will be expected to develop skills in the application of technology in a business and organisational context, to facilitate response to continuous future changes in technology and industry practices. The course is delivered as a modular program examined by Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).

Course Structure
A minimum KCSE overall Grade of D (Plain) or equivalent is required to enroll in the program. The course consists of three (3) modules, each six (6) months long. Examinations are taken at the conclusion of every module. At the conclusion of the final module, students are required to complete three (3) months of industrial attachment.

 

 

Diploma in information Communications Technology (KASNEB)

Students will be expected to develop skills in the application of technology in a business and organizational context, so as to facilitate response to continuous future changes in technology and industry practices. The course is delivered as a modular program examined by KASNEB.

Course Structure
A minimum KCSE overall Grade of C- (Minus) or KASNEB equivalent is required to enroll in the program. The course consists of three (3) levels, each with 4 units. Each Level can be completed in six (6) months (2 terms). Examinations are taken at the conclusion of each level in June or November per KASNEB schedule (http://kasneb.or.ke).


Certificate in Information Communications Technology

International Computer Driving License (ICDL)

Course Overview
The ICDL program defines the skills and competencies necessary to use a computer and common computer applications. It offers a wide range of modules including Computer Essentials, Word Processing and IT Security. Candidates take tests in the modules which are most relevant to their educational and professional requirements, thereby creating their ICDL Profile.

Course Structure
Base module certify skills that are considered essential skills because they are crucial for anyone who uses a computer to possess. Intermediate (Standard) module complements the Base module to enable students to develop skills in knowledge areas that are appropriate for everyday life. Advanced module will enable students to become a ‘power user’/perform advanced actions in four of the most commonly used applications. These modules are aimed at the work user who needs to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of these applications in the course of their job role. Each module can be completed in 4 months.

 

 

Computer Applications Packages

Course Overview
Computer Applications Packages is a course designed to teach students how to use the computer as a business and personal tool using applications software. Appropriate skills in the use of software for database management, word processing, graphics, and spreadsheets will be taught. Students will be required to perform activities using integrated software programs, learn to use the Internet, and they will be given assignments in which searching the Internet will be required.

Course Structure
The program covers 10 packages taught over the course of three (3) months. Internal Examinations are administered at the conclusion of the program. Students must pass all units to be awarded a Certificate in Computer Applications Packages. High School Education is required to enroll.
