APPLICATIONS FOR POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES ON VIRTUAL AND OPEN

LEARNING MODE OF STUDY FOR SEPTEMBER 2022 INTAKE

Applications are invited from qualified applicants for the following programmes which will be offered from various Digital School of Virtual and Open Learning Centers; Nairobi, Nyeri, Mombasa, Nakuru, Embu, Kericho, Kisumu, and Garissa beginning September 2022. The entry requirements for each Programme are as shown below:

SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

Department of Library and Information Science

Minimum Entry Requirements

Bachelors’ Degree in related field with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent from Kenyatta University or any recognized institution. Those with Second Class (Lower Division) may be considered on condition that they have Grade “C” and above in units relevant to their areas of specialization.

Department of Education Communication Technology

Post-graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)

Minimum Entry Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or its equivalent from Kenyatta University or any other recognized institution. Applicants should be holders of a Bachelor’s Degree with two (2) teaching subjects.

SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

Department of Business Administration

Master of Business Administration (MBA) with areas of Specialization as: Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Finance, Strategic Management, Management Information Systems and Project Management. Kenyatta University September DSVOL Intake Post

SCHOOL OF HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM

Department of Hospitality Management

Master of Science in Hospitality Management

Minimum Entry Requirements

Bachelor of Science with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) and above in Hospitality and Tourism Management and related fields

Those with Second Class (Lower Division) in Hospitality and Tourism Management and related area with at least two years relevant work experience.

Department of Tourism Management

Master of Science in Tourism Management

Minimum Entry Requirements

A holder of Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (Second Class Honours Upper Division and above) and/ or related field.

Master of Science in Integrated Soil Fertility Management (ISFM)

Minimum Entry Requirements

Bachelor of Science with at least Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Resource Management, Dry land Agriculture & Enterprise Development, Agricultural Engineering, Range Management, Horticulture, Environmental Science, Agricultural Education and Extension, Plant and Microbial Sciences, Geography or any other equivalent qualification from other institutions recognized by Kenyatta University Senate.

Minimum Entry Requirements

Bachelor of Science Degree with at least First Class or Second Class Honours (Upper Division) in Agriculture or other related areas from Kenyatta University and other institutions recognized by Kenyatta University Senate.

Holders of Second Class (Lower Division) may be considered on condition that they have grade ‘C’ and above in units relevant to their areas of specialization or a postgraduate diploma.

Master of Science (Agronomy)

Minimum Entry Requirements

Holders of Bachelor’s degree with at least First Class or Upper Second Class Honours in Agriculture, or any other related areas from Kenyatta University and other institution a recognized by Kenyatta University Senate.

above in units relevant to their areas of specialization.

Department of Kiswahili

Master of Arts in Kiswahili

Minimum Entry Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent from Kenyatta University or any recognized university with an average grade of ‘B’ in Kiswahili units. Those with Second Class (Lower Division) and at least

two years relevant work experience may be considered.

Application for admission into the programme can be done online by a simple click http://applications.ku.ac.keAll you need is:

Proof of payment i.e Bank deposit slip.

Ensure you have met the eligibility criteria for the selected program.

Academic Transcripts and Certificates.

Passport photo.

Identification documents, either an Identification Card number or Passport number.

Application forms can be obtained from Kenyatta University, Admissions Block, Office No. 12 or at the Regional Centers based in Nairobi, Embu, Nyeri, Mombasa, Nakuru, Kisumu and Garissa or be downloaded from our website. Applicants shall pay non-refundable processing fee of Kshs. 2,000/= for East Africans and Kshs.4,000/= for non-EastAfricans through Bank deposit into any of the following bank accounts:

NB: O’ Level Certificate must be attached: Those with Grade C (Plain) at K.C.S.E must have a Diploma and those with C- (Minus) must have a certificate and a Diploma.
