The department has the core aim of preparing and training teachers and educators for all levels of the education system in Kenya and beyond. The content and structure of the curricula for the different programmes domiciled in the department have been developed based on the principles governing the academic disciplines and the unique needs for the students’ areas of interest and ability
The Department offers courses to all students of Education both Arts and Science. The courses comprise the professional and legal aspect of teacher education which is compulsory for the teacher trainees.
The Curricular for various programmes are is designed to provide adequate skills in education including professional areas and with flexibility to accommodate the specific needs, abilities and individual interest of the students.
Curriculum courses are offered under the EDCI code while Educational, Planning Economics and Administration courses are offered under the EAPE code.
