Job description
Siaya Bondo Water and Sanitation Company LTD was established in 2006 as a Company to provide clean, safe, affordable drinking water and Sanitation services in Siaya County. We are seeking to recruit exceptional intern with strong teamwork and disciplined for the following position.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation of contract documents, leases and agreements between the office and other stakeholders, monitor legal obligations under the agreement to ensure compliance.
- Assist in preparation of court pleadings and attending to court matters
- Maintain a comprehensive database of all legal matters with up to date status reports
- Implement legal policies, procedures and ensure delivery of the strategy under the set timelines
- Prepare and submit monthly monitoring reports and other periodic or special legal reports
- Undertake research on assigned legal matters and prepare legal opinions
- Draft and/or review legal documents, instruments and monitor legal obligations
- Advise on statutory compliance
- Attend to and review all legal matters
- Assist in formulation, implementation and or amendment of office policies
- Collecting and collating research data
- Interviewing internal & external customers for proper referrals
- Any other relevant duties assigned from time to time
Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in law from a recognized university
- A Post graduate Diploma in legal studies from Kenya School of Law (an added advantage)
- Must have a valid practicing Certificate
- Must be well versed with the Constitution of Kenya
- Proficiency in Computer Applications
- Ability to undertake research and provide sound legal opinions
- Knowledge and exposure to Alternative Dispute Resolution will be an added advantage
- Have excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
