Technical University Of Mombasa Library

Technical University of Mombasa library provides a wide range of services and resources to support teaching, learning and research activities in the University. In addition, the library provides a quiet and conducive space for reading and studying. Wireless Internet access is also available throughout the library. The library is fully automated and individual accounts are automatically created for all registered students to facilitate borrowing of books. Once registered, kindly present yourself with your student ID to the library to get a user name and a password for your library account. Your student ID card also serves as your library card and must be presented every time you want to access library services.

The library provides access to both print and various electronic information resources such as e-books, e-journals and other scholar databases. 7.1Rules and Regulations

a.Students MUST identify themselves before entering the library.

b.Library transactions are strictly done by members’ own TUM ID card. It is an offence to use another person’s ID card.

c.Queuing system during peak hours has to be observed.

d.Every student coming to the library must observe proper passage IN and OUT of the library.

e.Any student leaving the library should declare their possession at the counter or at the security desk for inspection.

f.Handbags, jackets, files, folders, envelopes are not allowed in the library beyond the foyer area.

g.All cell phones (mobiles) have to be switched off or put on silent mode before entering the library.

h.All personal textbooks and those on loan to a user are not to be brought into the library.

i.Library seats should not be reserved by users for their own personal use or friends.

j.Silence has to be observed within the library premises.

k.While in the Library, students are not allowed to:-

i.Mutilate, steal, or tear library books or any other library materials.

ii.Smoke, chew gum, eat or drink.

iii.Sleep in the reading halls or stacks.

iv.Take books from one hall and hide them in the other.

l.Any breach of the above will lead to disciplinary action.
