Order of army ranks lowest to highest plus KDF salary 2017:

1.As a new recruit you will be able to earn from Ksh 7,172.
2.Cadet Kenya salary is Ksh 11, 852 per month, however as an Officer Cadet you will be able to earn Ksh 24, 520. To be bale to get the Officer Cadet position you will have to work for the military forces for more than three years.
3.Privates receive from Ksh 19,941 to Ksh 30,000, depending on the duration of the military service.
4.Lance Corporals earn from Ksh 26,509 to Ksh 50,000, depending on the duration of the military service.
5.A Corporal position will guarantee you Ksh 32,250, and up to Ksh 70,000 if you have a higher military experience.
6.If you are lucky to rise to the rank of Captain you will earn from Ksh73,182 and up to Ksh 110,000.
7.Majors earn from Ksh 102,106 in the beginning of the career, and Ksh 150,000 if you have reached the top.
8.Lt-Colonels will be able to earn over Ksh 130,735 and up to Ksh 180,000 after a few years of military service.
9.Colonels earn from Ksh 153,317 and up to Ksh 300,000.
10.If you will be hardworking enough to become a Lieutenant-General, your salary will be Ksh 632,984 and in a few years of good service – cosmic Ksh 800,000.
11.As a Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) you will be able to earn from Ksh 894,897 to fabled Ksh 1M per month. Of course, not every cadet or even major will be able to become a Chief of Defense Forces, however, hard work, dedication to work and country and courage can be the ticket to the top of the military career.

Am Stephen Njogu I had been trying my best to join military. I had been told severally to go to school due to my form four pass mark of B- and I can’t join cadet as the requirements are B plain. I haven’t ever joined any school as I don’t have cash. I wish I can work in the military .

  Boos, take the advantage of government sponsorship na you join a vocational. 56k fee for engineering diplomas, government pays 30k the remaining 26k they give you 40k as helb loan 26k paid directly to the school
  and 14k to your account. Take diploma in welding or Plumbing then wait for recruitment and join as a trades person you can then upgrade to a degree either in metallurgy or mechanical eng. I also got a B-…. Don’t be lazy to think
