About
The Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management was started in 2016 with the aim of conducting research in hospitality and tourism. We envision to become a model division of hospitality and tourism learning, research and innovation through offering high quality training, research and community service. We are in the forefront in preparing professionals who can provide solutions to the existing industry challenges. The department boasts of 12 highly trained and well-seasoned academic and non-academic staff members. According to the Ministry of Tourism, the tourism industry contributes approximately 10 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and employs about 9 percent of the total wage workforce in the country. Hence, our programmes are tailored to provide students with entrepreneurship and employability skills in the following service-oriented sectors:
1. Hotels and Restaurants.
2. Membership clubs.
3. Events and conference management.
4. Travel agents and Tour operations
5. Airline and railway travel
6. Tourism Departments
7. Hospitals
8. Parks
9. Museums and cultural centres
10. Fitness clubs and sports organizations (e.g. gyms, golf clubs, and tennis facilities)
Our mission is to offer high quality training, research and community service and help our students to achieve the highest potential within the industry and continued personal development. Additionally the school offers foreign languages to prepare the student for the global market.
