INSTITUTIONAL MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT
Welcome to Michuki TTI institutional department the home of two sections:

  • Food and Beverage Section
  • Clothing and textiles Section

Each section is headed by a Head of Section who manages the Day to Day affairs of the Section and is answerable to the Head of department
FACILITIES
The department is now housed in a three-storey ultra-modern building which also includes department staffroom and H.O.D office. This makes it possible for students to have access to their lecturers any time
Currently there are adequate facilities in the department.
For Fashion design section, the department is adequately equipped with modern electric machines and manual machines to ensure that the department is able to handle students from artisan level to Diploma.
Amongst other subjects, the students are trained on Tie & dye and fabric printing Techniques which are a direct means of self employment.
The section also owns a hair salon and barbering (Kinyozi) as a production Unit
In Food and Beverage section, the section is equipped with adequate equipment to handle courses from artisan level to Diploma.
There are enough classrooms and workshops for our students. The section now has two kitchens and two restaurants.
HUMAN CAPITAL
The department is adequately staffed currently. This ensures that the students, who are our customer number one, are attended to and assisted to shape their destiny.

INTAKE REQUIREMENTS

  • There have been changes in the intake requirements in that students in food and beverage shall be required to come with damask table cloth and slip cloth in addition to the necessary uniforms.
  • In Clothing and textiles, students are expected to come with safety clothing i.e either an Apron or a dustcoat.

INDUSTRIAL ATTACHMENT
The department Organizes for a three-month industrial attachment for all our students through Industrial Liaison Office

EDUCATIONAL TOURS
To enrich the courses offered, the department organizes for educational trips for the students and their lecturers to various relevant industries as transport is readily available as the institute has a Sixty-Two capacity College bus.
AFTER THE COURSE, WHAT NEXT?
After successful completion of various courses accompanied by industrial attachment, the department tries to seek for employment for our graduates by approaching our attaching industries.
Most of industries and firms we attach our students usually call us or writes to us through the principal whenever they want to recruit due to the discipline of our Trainees as indiscipline attaches are never tolerated in this department.
We also go an extra mile by offering advice to our trainees on academic and professional progression or incase one seeks to start a business.
The department trains for the industries hence our courses are responsive to the industrial demands which are dynamic. We also impart the relevant life skills so as to make our students fit in to this very competitive world.
GUIDANCE AND COUNCELLING
The department links with the well established guidance and counseling department which offers personalized guidance to our students as a problem shared is a problem half solved.
KNEC EXAMINATION PERFORMANCE
This department is known for extemporarily performance in KNEC examinations, this is confirmed by many students who transfers from other colleges including universities to our department
