This Department offers a range of courses in Mechanical field. There are several examining bodies that the Department admits students to undertake courses that lead to their examinations. These are Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC), City & Guilds (London), Railway based (SGR), Internal Examinations offered by RTI and National Industrial Training Authority (NITA).

The courses offered in the Department are taken in two modes – regular or part-time. The part-time courses are meant to cater to the clients who are working and can only attend evening classes. Regular courses run from 8.00 � 5.30pm from Monday to Friday. Part-time courses run from 5.30 � 8.30 pm every day from Monday to Friday and Saturdays from 9.00 am � 5.00pm.

The Department boasts of qualified and competent Lecturers that are vast in various fields of Mechanical Engineering. Students are trained in both theory and Practice.
