About Kisumu Polytechnic Business Studies Department

The Business Studies Department is one of the 10 academic departments in The Kisumu National Polytechnic. The average student population in the department is 800 every semester. Given the physical infrastructure it has, the unit can accommodate over 1500 students every session.
The Departmental Quality Objectives are:

• To ensure 100% syllabus coverage within the scheduled time
• To hold at least a termly meeting between students and staff to discuss issues affecting the department
• To improve performance of students in external examinations by increasing the pass rate from 65% to 75% by 30 June 2017

To achieve these objectives the department has embarked on an elaborate programme to professionalize itself by offering students specialized modules and accounting packages alongside their primary courses.
