Master of Arts in International Relations
At the master’s level, the International Relations program stresses an in-depth knowledge of world affairs and a thorough understanding of the research methods and theory of International Relations. All of the courses within the master’s program offer students a complex and challenging course of study, enhanced by USIU’s international student body and faculty population. This degree program prepares students for careers in the Foreign Service, diplomacy, government posts, international business, international organizations and private or non-governmental organizations. Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology
The MA in Clinical Psychology program is a practitioner model to promote professional mental health services to individuals, couples, groups, institutions and the society at large. It will provide education and training in professional standards of practice in clinical psychology. Furthermore, international ethical standards are incorporated into the program, to prepare the student for clinical practice in both the public and private domain worldwide.
Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology
The mission of counseling psychology program is to prepare graduates to function as effective counselors in a wide variety of settings. Performing successfully as counselors requires graduates to integrate theoretical and research based knowledge with therapeutic skills and personal characteristics to form an ethical, professional and caring counselor. The program seeks to prepare graduates for success in clinical, consultative and administrative tasks they will encounter in their practice.

The Doctorate in Psychology is a practitioner – scholar model designed to meet professional standards of international practice in Clinical Psychology. The degree includes course work, practicum and internship supervised training, and the doctoral dissertation.
Doctor of Philosophy in International Relations
The Doctor of Philosophy in International Relations Program at USIU is both course work intensive, research oriented, and is to be awarded on both full time and part time basis. Upon completing coursework (except dissertation) and passing written comprehensive exams, students will be advanced to candidacy.

The Center for Executive and Entrepreneurial Development (CEED) has developed a strategy that ties directly into our nations’ vision of empowering communities by offering the short course series. CEED will offer short courses twice a year- Season 1 and Season 2.
USIU-Africa/CEED Short Course Series (NEW!!)
Offers a variety of short courses that are highly specialized; can be ideally customized for business and industry; aimed at upgrading, refreshing knowledge and skills of mid-career professionals and senior experts. The series are meant for professionals (executives, managers, supervisors, directors, entrepreneurs) – or groups of professionals – with a specific area of interest and a limited amount of time. Some of the short courses are designed to gain credits for your next qualification, while others allow you to have fun learning something new!

TechnoServe helps Maasai women to transform their lives by improving their business skills in practicing effective dairy farming techniques. This effort is part of the Agribusiness Development Program, the first dairy plant in Kenya owned almost entirely by Maasai women.
DISASTER PREPAREDNESS IN URBAN AREAS
The course is aimed at those with or anticipating disaster management responsibilities who may wish to improve their working knowledge of theory and practice. This training is oriented to requirements for disaster preparedness; in particular planning disaster response needs to ensure that delegates are well equipped. Training packages are “tailor made” to the needs of those offered training, using local geography and resource inventories and based upon local skills and capacities
