LEARNING MODE OF STUDY FOR JANUARY 2023 INTAKE

Applications are invited from qualified applicants for the following programmes which will be offered from various Digital School of Virtual and Open Learning Centers; Nairobi, Nyeri, Mombasa, Nakuru, Embu, Kericho, Kisumu, Kakamega, Garissa and Marsabit beginning January 2023. The entry requirements for each Programme are as shown below:

SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

Department of Education Communication Technology

Post-graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)

Minimum Entry Requirements

Bachelor‟s Degree or its equivalent from Kenyatta University or any other recognized institution. Applicants should be holders of a Bachelor‟s Degree with two (2) teaching subjects.

Department of Library and Information Science

a)Master of Library and Information Science (b) Master of Science Records Management and Archives Administration (c) Master of Science Knowledge Management

Minimum Entry Requirements

Bachelors‟ Degree in related field with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent from Kenyatta University or any recognized institution. Master of Business Administration (MBA) with areas of Specialization as: Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Finance, Strategic Management, Management Information Systems and Project Management, Procurement and Supply Chain Management

Minimum Entry Requirements

Bachelor‟s Degree with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent from Kenyatta University or any other recognized university. Kenyatta University January DSVOL Intake

Department of Hospitality Management

Master of Science in Hospitality Management

Minimum Entry Requirements

Bachelor of Science with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) and above in Hospitality and Tourism Management and related fields

Minimum Entry Requirements

Minimum Entry Requirements

Bachelor of Science with at least Second Class Honours (Lower Division) degree in Animal Production and Health Management, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Agricultural Resource Management, Dry land Agriculture, Range Management or any other equivalent qualification from Kenyatta University or other institutions recognized by Kenyatta University Senate. Minimum Entry Requirements

Bachelor‟s Degree with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent in Engineering, Hydrology, and related disciplines, Natural Sciences or Social and Human Sciences from a recognized university. Those with Second Class (Lower Division) may be considered on condition that they have Grade “C” and above in units relevant to their areas of specialization.

Department of Geography

Master of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning

Minimum Entry Requirements

Bachelor of Arts, Science or Bachelor of Education Degree with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent from a recognized university and has studied Geography either as a major or regular subject to a degree level. Those with Second Class (Lower Division) may be considered on condition that they have Grade “C” and above in units relevant to their areas of specialization.

Department of Public Policy and Administration:

Masters of Arts in Public Policy and Administration (MPPA)

Minimum Entry Requirements

Bachelor‟s Degree of at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from a recognized university in any area of specialization. Those with Second Class (Lower Division) may be considered on condition that they have Grade “C” and above in units relevant to their areas of specialization.

Department of Kiswahili

Master of Arts in Kiswahili

Minimum Entry Requirements

Bachelor‟s Degree with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) or equivalent from Kenyatta University or any recognized university with an average grade of „B‟ in Kiswahili units. Those with Second Class (Lower Division) and at least two years relevant work experience may be considered.

Department of Recreation and Sports Management

Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Administration

Minimum Entry Requirements

Applicants for the Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Administration course shall have attained a minimum academic qualification of Bachelor‟s degree or its equivalent from a recognized University.

Department of Recreation and Sports Management

Master of Science in Exercise and Sports Science

Minimum Entry Requirements

A holder of a First Class or Upper Second first Degree or its equivalent in a relevant discipline shall be considered. Graduates of Physical Education, Exercise and Sports Science or Recreation and Sports Management as well as those in related fields such as Medicine, Nursing, Nutrition and Special Education shall be considered.

Holders of a relevant Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Administration and Management of Kenyatta University or any other

recognized University shall be eligible for admission to the programme while holders of a Postgraduate Diploma in related disciplines may also be considered.

The programmes are designed to allow students to study independently with minimal tutorial support. The programmes are co-ordinated in the following regional Centers; Nairobi, Nyeri, Mombasa, Nakuru, Embu, Kericho, Kisumu, Kakamega, Garissa and Marsabit.

Proof of payment i.e Bank deposit slip.

Ensure you have met the eligibility criteria for the selected program.

Academic Transcripts and Certificates.

Passport photo.

Identification documents, either an, Identification Card or Passport.

Application forms can be obtained from Kenyatta University, Admissions Block, Office No. 12 or at the Regional Centers based in Nairobi, Embu, Nyeri, Mombasa, Nakuru, Kisumu, Garissa, Marsabit and Kakamega or be downloaded from our website. Applicants shall pay non-refundable processing fee of Kshs. 2,000/= for East Africans and Kshs.4,000/= for non-East Africans through Bank deposit into any of the following bank accounts:

    (international students from not only Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda but also, DR Congo, South Africa, Burundi…).
    NB: it was too difficult to access on the website due to unknown cause.
