Vision
To be an international center of excellence in pursuit of development, dissemination, application and preservation of knowledge and research in science.
Mission
To achieve excellence in teaching and service for societal needs in business, industry, academics, government and research with emphasis on applications.
Objectives
1.To offer leading undergraduate and graduate programs in sciences.
2. To produce graduates with an appreciation of science as a driving force in society, industry and technology.
3.To produce graduates equipped with the knowledge, skill and values that would prepare them for their respective careers and provide them with experiences in both theoretical and practical application.
4.To develop high quality programs in the fields of science attuned to the needs of the times and responsive to the challenges in the labour market.

Programmes

MAIN CAMPUS
1. Master of Science in Industrial Mathematics  
Minimum Entry Requirements
Be a holder of a Bachelor Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Engineering or Computer Science with at least an Upper Second Class Honors from DeKUT or institutions recognized by DeKUT Senate OR Be a holder of a Bachelor Degree with at least a Second Class Honors (Upper Division) in relevant fields from institutions recognized by DeKUT Senate OR Be a holder of a Bachelor Degree with at least a Second Class Honors (Lower Division) from DeKUT or any other institution which is recognized by DeKUT Senate. The applicant in addition must show proof of either two years of relevant experience and personal development.

2. Master of Science Leather Technology  
Minimum Entry Requirements
Be holder of at least an Upper Second Class Honors Bachelor Degree of DeKUT in BSc. Leather Technology OR Be holder of at least a second class honors upper division Bachelor of Science Degree in relevant field, from  DeKUT or any other institution recognized by the University Senate as being of equivalent academic status to (i) OR Be holder of a Second Class Honors (Lower Division), Bachelor of Science degree in Leather Technology or Bachelor of Science Degree in relevant field from DeKUT or any other institution which is recognized by the University Senate as being of equivalent academic status and who in addition must show proof of two years of relevant experience and professional development and academic advancement through research and publication since graduation with the bachelor’s degree or a postgraduate Diploma in the relevant field.

3.Bachelor of Science in Industrial Chemistry    
Minimum Entry Requirements
KCSE with a minimum aggregate of C+ and
i)C+ in Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics
ii)C+ in Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology
iii)C+ in Mathematics, Biological Sciences and Physical Sciences
OR Have a minimum of 2 Principal Passes in Science Subjects in K.A.C.E in which one must be in Chemistry or any other qualification accepted by the university senate OR Have a Diploma in Industrial Chemistry or any other relevant field of chemistry with at least a credit pass from an institution recognized by the university senate

KCSE with a minimum aggregate of C+ and a minimum of C+ in Mathematics and Chemistry, C(plain) in Physics OR Have a minimum of 2 Principal Passes in Science Subjects in K.A.C.E in which one must be in Chemistry any other qualification accepted by the university senate OR Have a Diploma in Leather Technology or any other relevant field of chemistry with at least a credit pass from an institution recognized by the University Senate
