The DeKUT January 2024 Postgraduate Intake at the Main and Nairobi Campus

Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT) is a Chartered Public University that has two campuses: the Main Campus located within Nyeri County, 160 kilometers North of Nairobi City and Nairobi Campus located on the 2nd , 9th and 13th floor of Pension Towers, Loita street. PhD Mechanical Engineering	Be a holder of a Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering of DeKUT. OR Be a holder of a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering from another institution recognized by DeKUT Senate as being of satisfactory academic status. OR Any other recognized qualification deemed as being an adequate prerequisite for the PhD Mechanical Engineering Degree by DeKUT Senate.	Full-Time 3 Years Part-time 4 Years	Main Campus
Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering	A holder of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least Second Class Honors, Upper Division, of DeKUT. OR A holder of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least Second Class Honors, Lower Division, of DeKUT with not less than two (2) years relevant work experience. OR A holder of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, with Second Class Honors-Upper Division or Second Class Honors-Lower Division but with two (2) years professional work experience in area relevant to the programme, from another institution recognized by the DeKUT Senate as being of satisfactory academic status. OR Any other qualification recognized by the DeKUT Senate	Full time: 2 years	Main Campus
Master of Science in Telecommunication Engineering	A holder of at least an Upper Second Class Honours bachelors degree from DeKUT in Electrical and Electronic Engineering OR A holder of a Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Electronic Engineering degree of at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from another institution recognized by the DeKUT Senate. OR A holder of a Second Class Honours (Lower Division), Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Electronic Engineering degree from DeKUT or any other institution recognized by the University Senate as being of equivalent academic status and who in addition must show proof of either two years of relevant experience and professional development or in lieu of such experience, academic advancement through research and publication since graduation with the bachelor’s degree or a postgraduate diploma in the relevant field. OR A holder of any other qualifications recognized by the Senate as equivalent to the above.	Full time: 2 years	Main Campus
Master of Science in Advanced Manufacturing &Automation Engineering	A holder of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering with at least Second Class Honors, Upper Division from DeKUT or any other institution which is recognized by the university senate as being of equivalent academic status. OR A holder of a Bachelor Of Science in Mechanical Mechatronics Engineering with Second Class Honors Lower Division with at least 2 years working experience OR A holder of a Bachelor Degree with at least Second Class Honors (upper division) or second class honors (lower division) with at least 2 years experience in a related field, which is recognized by DeKUT senate	Full time: 2 years	Main Campus

M.Sc. Security and Forensics Management Security Management Corporate Forensics Cybercrime Investigation and Digital	Be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Police Science, Military Science, and Criminology, Security studies and/or related discipline, with at least Upper Second Class Honors or a cumulative Grade Points Average (GPA) of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00 from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology or any other University recognized and approved by the DeKUT Senate. OR Be a holder of a Bachelor Degree Police Science, Military Science, Criminology, Security studies and/or related discipline, with Lower Second Class Honors or a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.50 on a scale of 4.00 from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology or any other University recognized and approved by the Senate provided the candidate has relevant Postgraduate qualifications or relevant work experience of more than two (2) years. OR Be a holder of an equivalent qualification from other institutions recognized by the Senate as comparable academic qualification of Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, and approved by Senate; NB; Applicants who fail to meet the minimum admission requirements specified above may be required to appear for an interview by the department (either oral or written) to determine their eligibility into the programme. GEOTHERMAL ENERGY,TRAINING & RESEARCH INSTITUTE (GeTRI)
Master of Science in Geothermal Energy Technology	A holder of a Bachelor of Science degree of at least second class honors, upper division, or equivalent qualification which is recognized by the University Senate. OR A holder of a Bachelors of Science of an Engineering degree (in any field), with at least second class honors, upper division, from a recognized University in Engineering disciplines or equivalent qualification in a related field recognized by the university Senate. OR A holder of a Bachelor of Science of a Science or Engineering degree, with Second Class honors- Lower division in the Engineering disciplines outlined above and with at least 2 years work experience. OR A holder of a Post Graduate Diploma in Geothermal Energy Technology from DeKUT, or an equivalent qualification, which is recognized by the University, will join the program in the second year of study. One can submit dully filled application forms or apply online from our website https://www.dkut.ac.ke/index.php/academics/admission/apply-online, upon payment of a non-refundable application fee of Ksh.3, 000 for PhD, Ksh.1, 500 for Masters, Ksh.1, 000, for Undergraduate Degree, Ksh 500/- for Diploma and Certificate Programmes to any of the bank accounts on the application forms.
